After dominating the Pee-Wee B class in the 2011 FMSQ racing series, 9 year old Rockland native Simon Houle has made some heads turn in the ATV racing circles. This of course, along with all the great people the Houle family have met while out on their racing outings, have made Simon want to compete even more, and on different levels. During the winter months, he kept his form in check by participating in the Cousre VTT winter series. He rode in the 6-12 year old class and came out with a 2nd place overall for the season.

Now Simon is looking forward to the summer series, where he will participate in the Course VTT, FMSQ and the Maguire Motcross Racing Series, which is held in Ontario. Mother Angela Nolan is really excited to get her son competing in the Course VTT series. The organisation is very youth friendly and that’s always re-assuring for a mom. This series also gives young riders a chance to race at the Montreal Olympic Stadium in the fall, and a chance to hang out in the pits and rub elbows with the stars of supercross. Simon will be heading out to Bowman as early as April 29th to participate in a riding school, learn some new tricks and meet some of the folks that will participate in the FMSQ series. His first race will be an FMSQ event held in Franklin on May 5th and 6th. The family will travel supporting Simon throughout the summer and early fall, his last race being held on September 30th 2012.

Simon will again be running his Quad Expert modified LT80 for the summer series. While the racing season will be full swing, a 125cc version of this machine will be in development. The crew at Quad Expert will have this machine custom made to Simon’s specs and it will be his ride for 2013.

In the meantime, Simon is just another worry free kid having fun and playing on the farm he calls home with dad Frank, mom Angela and little sister Eleana (who is also quite the rider). There he works the fields and the bush with his father, getting the site ready for the annual Rockland Race event, a stop on the FMSQ circuit, and one of the favorite places to ride for all the FMSQ members.
